Black Tie - classics at their best
Dress code black tie has its roots in the history of the British aristocracy. And it dates back bagatelle as far as the 19th century. Black tie in those days was a less formal way to dress elegantly, which was traditionally worn in the evening - after seven o'clock in the evening. Black tie was a must-have set for any gentleman.
Slowly, the elegant outfit with the obligatory black bow tie began to replace the fashionable tailcoat, and after World War II it was the tuxedo that became known as the most fashionable - and at the same time the most preferred - evening wear by men.
Dress code black tie
What does the name actually mean and how to dress according to this classic pattern? The principle is simple, just do not fall into the trap of literally translating the name from English into Polish. Although black tie means "black tie," for a tuxedo we don't wear the so-called men's overhang, but a black classic bow tie.
Black tuxedo should be matched with a white, elegant shirt with a broken collar. It can be decorated with small pleats. Fasten the cuffs with pins, under the collar, of course, place a bow tie. The whole will be completed with a vest and tied, lacquered shoes.
Black tie style is a combination of black and white - so a classic, elegant, timeless set. Alternatively, navy blue is also acceptable - but only as the color of the material of the pants and vest. The shirt must necessarily be white. Do away with colorful pillowcases, too.
A tuxedo belt, also known as a Spanish belt, is also an ideal complement to a tuxedo. The tuxedo belt goes well with a single-breasted tuxedo. When putting it on, pay attention that the pleats face upward.
Who is the black tie for?
This classic set will work for many occasions. A black tuxedo with a white shirt and bow tie is recommended for premieres at the theater, opera or philharmonic. You can also impress with your elegance also at a wedding as a guest and at other official celebrations.
At the same time, it is worth noting that the black tie is a rather evening outfit. During the day, it is rare to see men in such attire. As a rule, too, hosts should not require such a dress code from their guests unless they invite them for the evening - after seven in the evening.
